Not so long ago, the wines of the Canary Islands and Ribeira Sacra were pretty much ignored among Spain-based Wine Intellectuals, sommeliers and serious wine merchants. I mean, for sure they weren’t associated with well-made, exciting, terroir-driven vino.
I know of a few Gallegos and Canarios that thought their wines weren’t good enough to share at the dinner table with visiting friends. Let alone sharing them with the rest of the world… Today, SevenFifty lists a total of 45 wines and 12 producers from the Canary Islands and 74 wines and 30 producers from Ribeira Sacra being sold in the NY market via 17 different distributors. Here at JPS, we're so happy and proud to see the Canary Islands, Ribeira Sacra and Guimaro Finca Capeliños being part of the conversation and the PUNCH Hot 25. Comments are closed.
