Well, that sounds like old news. I'm sure that many of you here know that there is plenty of gorgeous Grower Champagne out there. So that wasn't really our question for you today. Let's try it again. Grower Albariño, Anyone? Ha! that's a tough one. Yet I'm sure that many of you have drank a pleasant, even great glass of Albariño before from one of the top "houses" in Rías Baixas. And that's cool, but that's not where we're going today. So, against our lawyer's advice, let's start a "name dropping" game here. Should we? Let's say Billecart-Salmon, a very good medium-sized Grand Marque..."house" and Georges Laval, a small "vigneron" also making very good wine. Yes, I said wine. While you might have a preference for one wine over the other, it's fair to say that both of these folks make delicious stuff regardless of their size. But perhaps you already knew that too. So let's go back to the real question. Grower Albariño, Anyone? Maybe it turns out that you don't give a damn about "Grower Albariño" after all, and that's also fine with us.
But, if you do, you are in the right place today. Yes! Not only do we have plenty of well-known "Billecart-Salmon's" in Rías Baixas but we also have a few unknown "George Laval's" that deserve your attention. For God's sake! Let's stop this nonsense "name drooping" game. And let's start talking more about Real Grower Albariño! Real Grower Albariño, Anyone? Yes please, let's go and meet the unassuming Alberto Nanclares.
