Dear friends, We are deeply grateful for all of your support over the last couple months. For the month of June and during these times of social change, we would like to make a special offer that benefits our friends at Black Lives Matter. We are offering a mixed 6 pack case, (2 bottles of each wine) of new releases from Galician winegrower Laura Lorenzo of Daterra Viticultores. Laura is a revolutionary in her respective region of Ribeira Sacra and shares our values that we must collectively fight for basic human rights. Like the United States, Spain has a history of racism that stretches back hundreds of years. With that being said, over the past few years, Laura and her partner Alvaro have been collaborating with Senegalese viticulturists Mamadou and Lamine Touré. Mamadou and his nephew Lamine have become friends along the way. Their courageous spirit, kindness and passion for viticulture inspires us to no end, hence our feature of Daterra’s wines this month. We are offering a rare white wine based off of the Godello grape, along with two red wines. Made primarily from the Mencía grape and best served with a slight chill, the Tabernario is light, juicy, and perfect for summertime picnics and cheese and charcuterie plates, and the Camino de la Frontera is an earthy red blend based off of the Juan Garcia grape grown in the Arribes area of northwestern Spain, very close to the Portuguese border; it is both lively and graceful and is great paired with barbecued meats. All proceeds from purchasing this case will go to Black Lives Matter. We appreciate your support! The JPS fam. |
